— About
Katarina Sopčić was born in Valjevo, Serbia. She obtained her B.A. in Visual Communications from Universita Degli Studi di Firenze and M.A. in Design and Visual Communications at ISIA Florence - Industrial and Communication Design University, as well Diploma in Photography from the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich.
I’m drawn to the quiet spaces where presence dissolves into absence, moments suspended between becoming and fading. Through natural patterns, I reflect on the rhythms that mirror human experience and the cyclical nature of life. My work explores human–environment connectivity, revealing the subtle relationship between inner emotional landscapes and the external world. Landscape is not only what we see, but also what we remember, feel, and transform. To live within a landscape is to form an emotional bond shaped by memory, affection, and a quiet intimacy with place. Each terrain becomes a personal map, inscribed with experience, an ongoing act of reconciling with the earth and recognizing our interconnectedness with it. It calls for more than movement across its surface. It asks us to listen, to feel, and to engage with what lies beneath, acknowledging that our presence within the environment is both reflective and reciprocal.
